4th Annual Millennial Foundation Conclave Colorado Springs was the site of the Conclave that continued the trend of doubling the membership from one year to the next. Mathematics, Music, & Mysticism Ralph is a professor of mathematics at UC Santa Cruz and plays with visual music instruments and chaos. This talk concentrates on the development of mathematics before the time of Pythagoras. He shows many examples of the primary mathematical motif of the past--the cycle, and contrasts this with the modern developments in nonlinear dynamics. He also ranges into molecular biology, sociology, and mythology. I wish we had a video of this one.
